In short

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our China Legal team in Shanghai. This role is designed for those who want to understand how a corporate legal function operates from the ground up. You will focus on Legal Operations (Legal Ops)—the backbone of any high-performing legal team—while supporting critical compliance matters including advertising review, data privacy, and IP coordination.

Your mission

– Legal Operations & Contract Lifecycle Management (Core Focus): Take ownership of the end-to-end contract management process, from formal execution (seal management) to digital and physical archiving.
– Partner with China Legal Counsel to optimize the contract database, ensuring the traceability of legal assets and the integrity of corporate records.
– Manage the corporate authorization and seal-use protocols to ensure strict compliance with internal control policies.
– Corporate Governance: Assist in preparing and organizing corporate governance documents and power of attorney (POA) records.
– Compliance & Advertising Review: Support the review of advertising claims and marketing materials to safeguard the brand and minimize regulatory risks.
– Data Privacy & Legal Research: Support HQ and the China Legal team in enhancing data compliance frameworks through legal research on evolving regulations and assisting in data mapping exercises.
– IP Portfolio Support: Coordinate IP-related demands and assist in preparing regular case reports to track the protection of brand assets.

Your story

– Current senior undergraduate or graduate student (Year 1/2) majoring in Law.
Solid legal academic foundation; passing the Legal Professional Qualification Exam (BAR) is a plus.
– Detail-Oriented & Organized: You believe that “excellence is in the details” and take pride in maintaining organized, risk-proof legal systems.
– Fluent in English (both written and spoken, working proficiency required).
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (for data/contract tracking).
Strong communication and coordination skills, with a logical mindset and the ability to summarize complex information effectively.
– Career Aspiration: A strong interest in the “In-house” counsel path; you are eager to see how legal theory translates into enterprise-level risk management.

This role offers a unique “behind-the-scenes” look at how a legal department builds its foundation, providing you with the essential organizational and risk-management skills required for a successful career as a Corporate Counsel.
