We are looking for fresh ideas, curious minds and passionate individuals ready to make a difference. Our internships generally last 6 months and you will be fully embedded in a team.

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our Zurich-based Innovation Design team for a six-month internship. You will collaborate with an agile, interdisciplinary team of professionals across Design, Development, Engineering, Materials, and Sports Science.

As an intern, you will gain an in-depth understanding of athletes’ needs and translate them into innovative concept designs as well as innovate on design and making methods. You will contribute to the ideation, design, and engineering of groundbreaking products, assisting in streamlining the product design process and utilizing digital generative capabilities.

We seek a passionate, creative, and innovative individual with a keen eye for state-of-the-art manufacturing processes leveraging the latest tools and technologies. If you thrive in a collaborative, innovation-first environment and are eager to gain valuable experience in the sports industry, this internship is the perfect opportunity for you to kickstart your career.

Your mission

– You will support the development of concepts, mock-ups, visuals, and 2D/3D files to help bring new ideas to life
– You will help translate blue-sky innovation concepts into more tangible designs
– You will conduct research on emerging technologies, materials, and methods of make
– You will assist in the creation of prototypes and mock-ups using state-of-the-art tools and techniques to validate design concepts
– You will collaborate with the Innovation Sports Science, Technology, and Material team to translate ideas into innovative prototypes and visualizations
– You will proactively hunt trends in the sports fashion industry and always challenge our standards in this field

Your story

– You are currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in product/industrial design, architecture, computer science, or a related field
– You have a curious, entrepreneurial mind with a strong interest in innovation, exploration, performance products, and pushing the boundaries and tools of the products of the future
– You have a strong portfolio that showcases your skills and potential
– You are exceptional in handling 2D/3D/AI workflows, with an eagerness to learn and apply new digital creation tools; you believe now is the best time to innovate
– You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, and you thrive when collaborating with others
– You research through first principles thinking and are eager to understand challenges deeply
– You are fluent in English, both written and spoken

Meet the team

The Innovation Design Team considers itself a “think + do tank” operating at the intersection of innovation and design. As a community of creators and forward thinkers, the team always searches for the next “big thing.” As part of the Innovation Design team, you work alongside industrial designers, computational designers, and concept designers towards defining On’s future—always pushing the limits of performance, aesthetics, and sustainability, striving to revolutionize product and manufacturing technologies. The continuous exploration and close contact with athletes, material specialists, and sports scientists allow the team to transform those insights into groundbreaking products.
