On’s Technology team is building a Strategic Tech Initiatives group to drive our highest-leverage, cross-functional programs. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager who operates as a Tech Program Catalyst: someone who accelerates the delivery of internal technology programs, ensuring every initiative moves fast, stays technically grounded, and lands with real operational impact.
You will act as co-pilot to On’s Platforms and Security/IT Directors, helping prioritize their backlogs, structure their programs, and drive execution with urgency. You will also be the bridge between technical teams and the business stakeholders affected by their programs, ensuring confidence on both sides of the table.
Your mission
Structure Technical Programs for Impact
– Define every initiative with a clear technical hypothesis: “We believe [X] implementation will result in [Y] engineering or operational outcome, measured by [Z].”
– Refuse to launch execution without a trackable success metric tied to technical or operational outcomes.
– Translate architectural decisions and engineering trade-offs into structured, executable program plans.
Co-Pilot to Technical Directors
– Partner closely with the Platform & Ops, IT & Security, and Data & AI Directors to structure and drive their programs.
– Bring structure and momentum to initiatives that would otherwise stall in complexity.
– Ensure every program has a clear owner, timeline, and definition of done.
– Support backlog prioritization for the Platform & Ops team, starting by facilitating the process and growing into an advisory and ownership role as trust is established.
Drive Execution with Urgency
– Own the delivery timeline and dependency map across engineering teams.
– Identify blockers early and resolve them without waiting for permission.
– Design 30-60-90 day delivery milestones and optimize for speed-to-value.
– Cut scope ruthlessly in favor of high-leverage technical outcomes.
Bridge Tech and Business
– Communicate proactively with business stakeholders affected by internal tech programs.
– Translate technical progress, risks, and timelines into language that builds confidence, not anxiety.
– Ensure the business feels informed, not surprised, at every stage of delivery.
Embed with Engineering Teams
– Spend meaningful time with engineers, architects, and platform teams to understand where delivery is slowing or value is leaking.
– Build credibility through technical fluency, not just coordination.
– Validate that shipped programs deliver their intended operational value post-launch.
Own the Outcome
– Proactively surface risks, blockers, and technical debt that threaten delivery.
– Radical ownership means doing what the program needs: vibe code the PR, build the prototype, draft the brief. Step in, create momentum, hand back ownership.
– Keep initiatives open post-launch to validate that technical outcomes translated into real operational impact.
– Report on outcomes realized, not just go-live dates.
Your story
Technical Fluency
– Strong understanding of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and platform architecture.
– Comfortable navigating engineering trade-offs, migration sequencing, and technical dependencies.
– Able to read a technical design, ask the right questions, and identify delivery risk early.
Program Delivery
– 4+ years in technical program management, engineering project leadership, or a closely related role.
– Experience driving complex, multi-team technical initiatives end-to-end.
– Skilled at structuring ambiguity into executable delivery plans.
Value Discipline
– Obsessed with speed-to-value, not just activity and status updates.
– Refuses to hide behind green dashboards when real risk exists.
– Comfortable calling out misalignment or scope creep early.
Communication & Influence
– Able to communicate clearly with engineers, architects, tech leadership, and affected business stakeholders.
– Practices radical candor when speed-to-value is at risk.
– Structured communicator from whiteboard to stakeholder update.
Success in This Role Looks Like
Within 12 months:
– Cloud migration is delivered on schedule, moving On onto cutting-edge data and AI infrastructure that unlocks the next generation of On’s technology ambitions.
– A pipeline of internal tech programs is shaped and in motion across Platform & Ops, IT & Security, and Data & AI, with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and delivery milestones defined for each.
– Backlog prioritization for Platform & Ops is running smoothly, with this role increasingly owning the process end-to-end as the partnership with the Director matures.
– Trusted co-pilot status is earned with the Platform & Ops, IT & Security, and Data & AI Directors. They bring you in early, rely on you to structure ambiguity, and trust you to keep their programs moving without losing sight of the outcome.

You’ll work in a cross-functional environment with engineers, product managers, and business leaders to bring our most ambitious goals to life.
