What you will be doing:

The Maintenance Manager oversees the daily inventory activity of the Distribution Center. This new facility processes and distributes primarily apparel and footwear with the latest in high tech material handling and storage equipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

Maintain locations of AMER leased locations in the Pittston, PA area, location of GM 460 Research Drive, Pittston, PA

  • Purchasing of warehouse shipping supplies. This includes all boxes, labels, tape, other packing supplies, Computer supplies, all office supplies. Ensuring we have proper supplies at time of need.
  • Ensuring Proper security at all Pittston facilities. Work directly with outside security companies, First contact of emergency calls from security monitoring companies. Set security for all Pittston buildings:  maintain security Fobs for employees; ensures secure and safe work environment.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas of warehouse, office and SC. Hire outside cleaning services to maintain cleanliness of all offices, breakrooms, and other areas of the buildings.
  • Maintaining Exotec Automated picking retrieval system.
  • Maintaining Packsize carton making system
  • Maintaining all smart conveyors
  • Hire & train team for repair, maintenance and preventive maintenance. At least one technician to be on site at all times system is running. This is to ensure warehouse can meet production schedules.
  • Collaborate with building owners and other outside contracts on building leases and maintenances.
  • Schedule monthly, yearly maintenance schedules of buildings and other contracted equipment. This ensures safe and legal work environment.
  • Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments.
  • Work directly with outside contractors in all buildings for any new changes. Set installation schedules. Work with managers to coordinate possible interruptions.

  • Coach and train employees on maintenance responsibilities.
  • Training all forklift operators. Schedule and train all operators in forklift use for safety and equipment damages.  

What you need to succeed:

This role requires 2+ years’ progressive experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution operation which includes automation; with 2+ years prior experience managing a team. A high school diploma or equivalent experience with a focus on supply chain, logistics or other operational types is preferred.  Other qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience with facility maintenance and management, Warehouse or Distribution Center management a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Mechanical skills preferred
  • Dedicated attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Progressive experience in a fast-paced, high volume distribution operation
  • Previous experience with warehouse automation technologies
  • Experience in the sporting goods industry,
  • Formal education or equivalent experience in warehouse operations, logistics or other related fields
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
  • Basic business finance knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAP WMS a plus

Location and Site Details:

This is a full-time, on-site, exempt position requiring a flexible, operations-based schedule. Hours of work are driven by leadership expectations and departmental needs, rather than a fixed standard shift.

Must be available for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift coverage, including weekends and holidays. Extended hours, early mornings, evenings, and additional shifts

A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is $80,000 – $95,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
