Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: 
As the Senior Retail Director, you shape and lead our growing regional Retail organization, along with all Retail support functions (Retail Operations & Performance and Retail Training), to foster Arc’teryx brand awareness and deliver best-in-class guest experiences across every touchpoint of the retail journey.  
You will develop and own guest-centered business & people development strategies in EMEA over a 3-5-year horizon by also building new processes and structures.  
Your partnership with your teams, participation in regional cross-functional projects, and fostering connections with HQ leaders and peers/colleagues from the Group’s sister Brands and business partners will ensure your plan is executed fully and on time. We will ultimately always result in a seamless Arc’teryx experience in store.

The position is based in one of our main Epicenters : Paris, London or Munich with a preference for Paris. Candidates must be eligible to work in the country.
Meet Your Future Team: 
 
The EMEA Retail teams and supporting functions are accountable for delivering P&L accountability across all stores in the network, keeping the Guest experience at the center of every decision, and identifying, reviewing, and implementing new sales opportunities and strategic plans to boost store performance and profitability.  

If you were in Senior Director, Retail EMEA role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Developing and leading the Retail strategy, including market plans, new store growth, and community, focused on the mid to long-term strategy, 3-5 years out. 
  • Creating high-performance teams and a performance-driven culture through clear and strong people strategies and career development in the area and globally.
  • Owning and leading fleet wide retail stores initiatives and multi-year projects, with cross-functional business partners (eg: CRM and in-store loyalty program implementation and, omni capabilities in store).
  • Setting strategies to achieve our goals with respect to local market maturity and nuances through broadening our deep understanding of each Country, market, and city in your area.
  • Building a Retail Performance muscle to create strategic bridges between the ‘office’ and the store floor to ensure every store is operating at peak efficiency while delivering a “white glove” client experience
  • Ensure consistency of service delivery, compliance, asset protection, and store-level discipline across a diverse regional footprint
  • Owning responsibility for the Retail P&Ls and performance or outperformance of key retail Operations & Performance KPIs for your area.
  • Influencing Locations hunting and commercial agreements negotiation for existing and new site locations in EMEA including store designs liked to our guest experience.
  • Strengthening our brand equity by ensuring that the retail strategy is aligned with Arc’teryx values, purpose, consumer promise, and the company’s long-term objectives.
  • Working with cross-functional support and enablement functions of Brand, Finance, Retail Merch, VM, and Supply Chain, IS, People & Culture, to deliver value to the retail business.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Accelerating community growth, retail presence, and sales in our global epicenters London and Paris, including Alpha Store openings.
  • Championing large‑scale change by enabling talent to challenge the status quo, unlocking new commercial value, and accelerating commercial performance across EMEA.
  • Implementing a new client-centric structure, based on an updated full price guest selling journey, CRM platform, and training addressing both local and tourist demographics.
  • Design and continuously optimize retail Operation processes to support network growth and operational scalability while preserving agility and local market relevance.
  • Developing training content aligned with performance needs, service expectations, and brand storytelling to position stores as centers of expertise, not just points of sale

Are you our next Senior Director, Retail EMEA?

  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it.
  • 12–15+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, including senior roles.
  • Demonstrated ownership of retail P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Proven success leading medium to large-scale store fleets (national and regional).
  • Experience developing and managing senior field leadership teams (Regional/District Managers).
  • Track record of driving sales growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Merchandising, Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, People & Culture, and Store Development.
  • History of leading change initiatives (store optimization, new concepts, growth or turnaround environments).
  • Deep knowledge of retail operating models.
  • Ability to translate brand strategy into a consistent, high-quality in-store guest experience.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Experience building leadership pipelines and succession plans.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive leadership, employee engagement, and organizational culture.
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
