As the Senior Costing Specialist – Footwear, you partner with a team of highly qualified sourcing, quality, development, production and raw materials professionals to achieve business objectives, collaborating across the Arc’teryx Headquarters and the Arc’teryx Hong Kong Sourcing Office.
You will be working with a well-developed base of highly professional long term vendor partners, always looking for creative solutions and processes to improve speed, optimize cost, support margin, and best utilize supply chain capabilities and efficiencies.

We are a small but highly versatile team of problem solvers and process makers, driving collaborative partnership between Arc’teryx Headquarters, our partners, and the Hong Kong Office team. We support the building and execution of a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time.
If you were the Senior Costing Specialist for Arcteryx now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Cost Analysis:
- Product costing, analyzing quotes and negotiating to meet target costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Evaluating alternative materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes to reduce costs.
- Conducting cost breakdowns (materials, labor, tooling, packaging, freight, tariffs, etc.).
- Ensuring seasonal CBDs are accurate and confirmed on a timely basis.
- Meeting key development stages’ CBD, Buy ready, monthly Buy FOB list and Tool Agreement deadlines
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partnering with product development, design, sourcing, engineering teams and suppliers to identify costing savings and ensure cost-effective product creation.
- Working closely with sourcing and partners to identify cost drivers and implement efficiency improvements.
- Liaising with cross-functional teams to assess production feasibility and scalability.
Partner Engagement:
- Reviewing and negotiating factory cost sheets to align with brand pricing strategies.
- Conducting supplier visits (domestic & oversea) to assess capabilities and validating cost structures.
- Monitoring global market trends (raw materials, labor rates, tariffs, trade regulations) affecting costs.
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Refining costing methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Tracking cost variances and providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Maintaining a cost database for benchmarking and historical analysis.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensuring costing aligns with sustainability, ethical sourcing, and compliance standards.
- Identifying risks (supply chain disruptions, material shortages, geopolitical factors) and proposing mitigation strategies.

- Supporting the Sourcing Manager to drive partnership with our partners to deliver best-in-class performance
- Researching and assessing new partners to support the business and capacity growth and driving continuous improvement
- Working more in-depth with current and future vendor base to propose continuous improvements on partner level for efficiency and cost improvements.
- Building a talent pipeline to support long term workload increase and business growth.
Are you our next Senior Costing Specialist for the Arcteryx?
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- You have 5+ years’ experience in footwear costing, manufacturing, or sourcing in a global company
- Experience in technical footwear or sportswear categories is ideal
- You have strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively with internal and external stakeholders of diverse cultural backgrounds
- You have expertise in negotiation, problem solving and multi-tasking.
- You have strong analytical skills with experience in cost modeling. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations
- You are assertive and have a high level of self-initiative,
- You are fluent in English and have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You are able to travel up to 1-2 weeks, per quarter, as required.
- You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook, and knowledge of ERP & PLM systems is an advantage (e.g., SAP, Centric etc.)
- You have Crispin or similar CAD systems and pattern making knowledge is preferable
