The Arc’teryx People & Culture Japan team is growing!
As the Recruiter Retail Japan, you will lead attraction and acquisition strategies for our retail locations across Japan. You are a natural relationship builder and mentor, working in partnership with our Retail Leaders (Store Manager, Regional Manager, Retail Senior Manager, and Director, Retail APAC) and field People and Culture Business Partnership Retail Japan to identify business needs and match them with phenomenal people.
You are an advocate and facilitator for our organization and strive to continuously evolve processes that contribute to an excellent candidate and employee experience. You love coming up with new ideas to make the recruitment process as attractive and fast as possible. You are a strong team player and love being part of projects of field focused recruiting projects.
This position is based in Tokyo, Japan and hybrid working is allowed (3 days onsite – 2 days at home). Candidates must be eligible to work in Japan. Some travel is also required of this role to visit retail stores locally in Tokyo, and across Japan when necessary.

You will work with a collaborative team of energetic global recruiters who are focused on attracting and selecting the very best candidates for our corporate, manufacturing, and retail teams, while ensuring an incredible candidate experience every step of the way.
If you were the Recruiter – Retail, Japan, now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Managing the full cycle recruitment for your business area in line with Arc’teryx’s overall talent strategy and leading strategic sourcing and pipeline activities in partnership with retail leaders across Japan
- Partnering with the Manager, Talent Acquisition – APAC to create and implement effective recruitment strategies for all our futures New Store Opening Projects across Japan
- Leading the improvement of the skills of managers in your areas of expertise by providing training, guidelines, feedback, etc.
- Partnering to develop unique Japan retail employer branding strategies
- Helping to enhance our processes while seeking ways to improve workflows to maximize efficiencies and our Time to Hire / Time to Fill
- Coordinating with the different HR teams to ensure new employees are hired and onboarded seamlessly
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Leaning in to support Korea, Taiwan, and Australia/New Zealand recruitment as needed
- Leading conversations around the development and execution of long-term talent and pipeline strategies to meet departmental needs and objectives (ex: Retail careers path, internal mobility)
- Offering market insight and data to support HR Business Partners and senior retail leaders through strategic headcount decisions
- Supporting the HR Japan and APAC team with cross functional projects and hiring commitments as required
- Supporting as a team in others hiring area (eg: corporate positions)
Are you our next Recruiter Retail – Japan?
- You have 4+ years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience in fast-paced work environment (retail, hospitality, food & beverage)
- You are a master with LinkedIn Recruiter and you have ideally already worked with Lever
- You have an excellent command of the English and Japanese language
- You have strong interpersonal skills with a positive and approachable work ethic, and an evident desire and ability to build strong relationships with a customer-service focused mentality
- You are a firm supporter of diversity in the workplace, and you lead by example
- You are a team player, able to collaborate effectively with various teams
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity and you seek for improvement
