As the Manager of Material Quality at Hong Kong Office (HKO), you safeguard the quality and performance of the materials used in Arc’teryx apparel and gear across Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners in our global supply chain.
Based in Hong Kong you will oversee and monitor implementation of Arc’teryx material quality protocols; support our global material quality strategy through proactive engagement with raw material suppliers and garment factories.
Your work directly ensures that raw materials used in Arc’teryx products meet or exceed our highest expectations for performance, durability, and consistency.
Meet Your Future Team:
This role is the first Material Quality position in Asia and represents the regional extension of the Vancouver Design Centre (DC) team. You will work closely with and take functional direction from the Senior Manager of Material Quality and the RMQ team based in Vancouver. You will play a key role in shaping our regional footprint, establishing new capabilities, and strengthening the connection between Asian suppliers and the global RMQ function.
If you were the Manager, Material Quality for the Hong Kong Office now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
· Building a high-performing material quality function in Hong Kong office.
· Conduct regular Tier 1 (garment factory) and Tier 2 (material supplier) site visits to assess and audit adherence to material quality protocols, validate processes, and identify risks critical to quality.
· Manage T1/T2 or third-party lab qualification, onboarding, accreditation, and ongoing performance evaluations.
· Conduct on-site inspections for high-risk raw materials, escalated issues, or non-standard production scenarios at T1/T2.
· Deliver onboarding and training to T1/T2 vendor teams on Arc’teryx quality standards, protocols, testing procedures, and inspection requirements.
· Train and audit global QCs and T1/T2 inspectors to ensure aligned and consistent quality expectations and execution across regions.
· Support the global team in issue resolution for T1/T2 material problems, including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action plans.
· Lead regional data collection, ensure completeness and accuracy, document findings clearly and report back to the global Material Quality team and cross-functional partners.
Are you our next Manager, Material Quality?
· You hold a degree in textiles or a related technical discipline or possess equivalent professional experience.
· You have 10+ years of experience in raw materials, textile manufacturing, and/or quality management, with 3-5+ years’ experience managing and developing technical or quality teams
· You have strong working knowledge of textile fibers, yarns, woven and knit constructions, finishing techniques, films/laminations, and dyeing processes.
· You are proficient in textile testing and standards (ASTM, AATCC, ISO, GB),and can evaluate data for functional performance and conformance.
· You are experienced in supplier auditing, capability assessments, and performing onsite inspections.
· You bring strong leadership skills and able to manage multiple topics/projects with minimal supervision.
· You adapt quickly in dynamic manufacturing environments and make sound decisions under pressure.
· You are a strong problem solver, with a creative and collaborative approach to solving challenging problems
· You are fluent in English and have strong communication skills
· You have the ability to travel throughout Asia and internationally, as required.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is HKD$638,000 – HKD$790,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, your collaborations, and your impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
