THE ROLE

As Menswear Designer, you will design lifestyle product rooted in workwear heritage while pushing silhouettes, materials, and details into a modern fashion context. This is a hands-on role with strong product ownership. The Menswear designer will be responsible for the allocated product range from initial concept research, through sketching, tech-packs, fittings, proto-reviews until the finished products. As a menswear designer, you will be working closely with the other designers in the team, the design manager and ensure a precise and balance collection story telling aligned with the rest of the product categories. You will work cross-functional with product development and merchandise to ensure the designs are in-line with the brief and price target. Next to this, the Menswear designer will be presenting his collection, travel to factories and attend milestone meetings off-site. 

PROFILE

• Fashion, Art or design education (or equivalent) 

• 3+ years menswear design experience 

• Strong interest in workwear, heritage brands, fashion trends, lifestyle culture and subcultures

• Strong passion for utility product, high quality Fashion, material knowledge and garment construction detailing

• Strong understanding of fit, proportion, and wearability 

• Excellent Illustrator and Photoshop skills 

• 3D design / AI is a plus

• Hands-on approach and an agile team player

• Collaborative, proactive, and organized 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design high quality and fashion forward relevant men’s lifestyle product inspired by Dickies workwear heritage

• Design in-line with the creative vision, merchandising brief and price target

• Research trends, archives, fabrics, and cultural references 

• Develop silhouettes, fabric stories, trims, and construction details 

• Design across multiple product categories 

• Create detailed CADs and tech packs 

• Manage design execution through fittings and samples 

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing 

• Ensure on-time delivery according to seasonal calendars
