VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Senior Sustainability Manager to join our EMEA Sustainability team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a Senior Manager in Sustainability, you’ll spearhead the transformation of VF’s business capabilities in alignment with sustainability principles and forthcoming requirements. Your role is pivotal in developing regional progress that contributes to VF’s global sustainability goals, working closely with the internal and external stakeholders.

As Senior Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for:

Environmental regulatory preparedness

  • Follow EU and national environmental regulatory developments in close collaboration with internal & external expert stakeholders.
  • Transpose regulatory developments into forthcoming business requirements and create the case for change.
  • Assess the business status quo against forthcoming requirements and create pathways for transformation.
  • Collaborate across the Corporate and Brand organizational set up to upskill critical stakeholders and drive the transformational effort required through them.

VF & BRAND INCUBATION & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Collaborate with the VF Sustainability team, relevant VF functions, Brands, and external stakeholders to meet goals, track progress, and develop regional capabilities that impact the global VF Sustainability strategy and decarbonization roadmap.
  • Partner both inside and outside the organization to incubate and implement critical regulatory requirements such as ESPR performance, information requirements, claim substantiation, and product impact transparency, while acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Identify and implement good practices from global VF Sustainability operations into the regional operating model, and devise operational guidelines, training, and practices for efficient and consistent implementation across the organization.
  • Take charge of process documentation, SOP creation, risk advisory, and controllership in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and drive compliance requirements into a competitive advantage for the business.

BRAND ENGAGEMENT

  • Support and drive Brand-specific requests as part of their respective sustainability transformation roadmaps, create efficiencies across the VF portfolio, and strategically liaise with Brands in specific focus contexts to test, pilot, and pivot readiness solutions.
  • Work closely with the regional Brand Sustainability Operations agenda, prioritize tasks, and act as a unified Sustainability voice to the business, thereby enhancing the overall sustainability impact.

We are looking for someone who possesses a learning & growth mindset, manifested in:

  • A boundless curiosity for the planet, nature and thriving ecosystems.
  • An understanding of corporate business processes and the industry operating model.
  • Excellent analytical skills & process thinking to translate complex external issues from multiple sources into tangible & streamlined guidance for a wider set of internal stakeholders.
  • Iterative thinking capacity against long term ambitions.
  • An expertise in business transformation initiatives with a focus on technology, systems or operating transformation.
  • Experience in governance & process design, risk advisory & controls, working against assurance readiness.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability concepts and frameworks, e.g. circularity, decarbonisation levers, LCA, regenerative agriculture, nature impact.
  • An ease to manoeuvre between different stakeholder groups and an ability to reconcile diverse inputs into an aligned pathway forward. 

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Relevant Subjects are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
