The Specialist – Material Quality will ensure color excellence for On Apparel from end-to-end by building and maintaining standards, training global partners, and managing the approval process from development to bulk production.
Your mission
– Strategy & Standards: Partner with the Color and Material team to review the color palette each season and conduct risk color assessments on new colors and new materials.
– Process Development: Build the color standard with the color team from end-to-end to ensure consistency across all product lines.
– Supplier Enablement: Lead the onboarding and training of T1 & T2 suppliers regarding the On Color Approval process.
– Quality Control: Manage 1st lot approval for fabric and trim submissions to ensure development intent is met in production.
– Execution: Track and hand over approved lab dips and 1st lots to T1 & T2 suppliers to maintain strict control over bulk production.
– Performance Management: Evaluate suppliers based on color KPIs and prepare strategic improvement roadmaps.
– Continuous Improvement: Review suppliers’ ongoing color performance and take corrective actions for continuous quality enhancement.
– Problem Solving: Partner with the QA team to resolve technical color issues arising from T1 and T2 suppliers.
– Self-Approval Program: Implement and manage the Self-Approval color program, empowering qualified suppliers to maintain standards while streamlining the production timeline.
Your story
– Experience: 5–6 years of relevant work experience specifically in color management within the textile or apparel industry.
– Technical Expertise: Deeply familiar with textile dyeing processes and the use of DataColor spectrophotometers.
– Mindset: Must be driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
– Systems: User proficiency in Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, PLM, and various data visualization tools.
– Soft Skills: Highly organized and capable of managing multiple activities and meetings across a diverse network of cross-functional teams and T1 & T2 suppliers.
– Communication: Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
