JOB MISSION:

The Global Content Factory creates marketing and Omni-channel content using state-of-the art StyleShoots photo and video machines as well as traditional photography equipment.  With its flagship location at NB Headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, New Balance is opening a satellite studio in Amsterdam and looking for an experienced, collaborative Studio Manager to lead the way in opening our newest location.

The Studio Operations Manager, Global Content Factory will be a leader for the in-house photography studio and manager of the studio operations team. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Global Creative Operations in Boston. Responsibilities include overseeing all operational aspects of Content Factory, leading with communication, innovation, and creativity as top priorities; and ensuring the studio team has everything they need to deliver the highest quality work and optimum value for the Brand.

As the lead for day-to-day operations, the Studio Operations Manager must be highly collaborative, have strength in team building, and drive partnerships with the Creative Manager and Producer, across the creative and operations teams.

The Studio Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the studio’s day-to-day operations by managing the process from intake of brief through to delivery of final assets. This includes intake and scheduling of work, ensuring timelines are met, optimising workflow, management of samples, producing shoots, resource management, quarterly metrics reporting and analysis, and budget and vendor/talent management. This person will be the main contact for project standing and readiness for the season.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partners with the Creative Manager and Producer for overall studio success.
  • Manages the Sample Management team.
  • Manages all projects and drives communications (clarifying the brief, timing expectations, etc.) with business owners, primarily in marketing and reaching across the organisation.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with cross functional and cross departmental teams.
  • Drives workflow, assigning priorities from photography to retouching, partnering with the creative ops team on timelines, Producers on production timing, and Associate Photography Manager for post-production.
  • Evaluates level of effort, identifies bottlenecks and recommends solutions to streamline workflow.
  • Schedules shoots and projects in Workhorse platform.
  • Manages the studio budget and builds long-range work planning to forecast resource needs and roll that up to global studio leadership
  • Tracks monthly metrics and identifies trends within the team.
  • Partners with Creative Manager to lead daily team status meetings.
  • Partners with Creative Manager in ordering of prop equipment, set parts, and software.
  • Manages budget while providing visibility to Creative Manager and broader leadership.
  • Facilitates accounting and system set up for invoicing and payment to vendors, contractors, and agencies.
  • Partners to keep the studio clean, clear, and organised. 

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Relevant number of years photo studio management with extensive experience team building and communicating across all levels.
  • High level knowledge of post-production processes and digital asset management platforms.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel, and Microsoft Suite proficient and experience with Asana, Widen, Workhorse and GlobalEdit, is a plus.
  • Intermediate experience with workflows, including Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, file management, project management.
  • Flexible, productivity-focused, and quick problem solver with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure team members are aligned and clear on priorities.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with team members in multiple locations.
  • Ability to work from the New Balance studio a minimum of 3 days per week, and flexible to be at the studio more days per week depending on scheduled productions.
  • Proficiency in English required.
