On is looking for a business-oriented, pragmatic, and proactive patent professional to join the On Legal Team in Zurich, Switzerland reporting to the Head of Intellectual Property. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of independently and efficiently managing a large, diverse, and complex workload, while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating topics; someone with experience from both law firm and in-house who will serve as a subject matter expert and support our product teams.

Your mission

– Collaborate closely with product development teams, including product developers and designers and material experts, serving as a key point of contact for all patent-related day-to-day inquiries.
– Review and analyze our product pipeline from both a patent protection and freedom-to-operate perspective, identifying potential IP risks and opportunities in collaboration with the other team members.
– Conduct prior art searches and landscape analyses to assess the patentability of inventions and identify potential infringement issues.
– Collaborate with product teams to drive patent protection strategies, guide the technical experts through the invention disclosure process, and support invention harvesting activities.
– Monitor the competitive landscape and identify potential IP threats and opportunities.

Your story

– A minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of patents.
– Experience working at a patent law firm is essential. In-house experience is a plus.
– A background in industrial engineering or textile engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
– Qualification as a patent attorney is a plus, but not required.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and legal professionals.
– Adapt easily to fast-moving and changing projects, prioritizing and triaging effectively.
– Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently but also in a team environment.
– Business fluent in English.
