As Director of Manufacturing, you shall be responsible for shaping the Sourcing landscape for On’s Apparel & Accessories business with reliable, scalable, sustainable and innovative Manufacturing partners. Your core responsibility is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. The position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive operational excellence within manufacturing.

As a key member of the globally integrated supply chain team and cross-functional apparel & accessories organization, you will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam with frequent travel within Asia, Europe and Zurich.

Your mission

– Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Onboard the right manufacturing partners, keeping in mind the growth of the business, the product category, innovation, & sustainability standards that On stands for.

– Oversee the production process & ensure ontime delivery, quality, & compliance with regulatory standards, and drive operational excellence with the manufacturing partners.

– Identify areas of process improvement and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce cost, and increase efficiencies and quality.

– Work closely with cross-functional teams like Development, Demand & supply planning & logistics to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the manufacturing process.

– Manage & develop a high-performing manufacturing team globally, including hiring, training, and mentoring to ensure decision-making capabilities are available on site.

– Ensure compliance at all manufacturing sites is implemented & certifications are available as per guidelines from the Sustainability team.

– Develop good working relationships with Manufacturing partners aligned with On’s culture & spirits.

Your story

– 15-20 years of in-depth experience in manufacturing and leading multicultural teams. Experience managing large-scale production operations would be preferred.

– Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices in the industry. Experience of implementing efficiency projects like lean manufacturing principles & driving continuous improvement initiatives

– Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions. Good project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

– Ability to adapt to a fast-growth environment and work under pressure due to changing industry dynamics.

– Familiarity with regulatory requirements, quality management systems, & compliance certifications.

– Professional certification in manufacturing processes and business administration in related disciplines.

– Strong leadership and management abilities to motivate & inspire a diverse team.

– An entrepreneurial and open mindset, an eagerness for differentiation, and a natural push for excellence.

Meet the team

Your team shall consist of direct reporting of Operation Heads of Apparel & Accessories Globally as well as Sr. Lead of Production Planning. You shall also collaborate closely with the Director of Development & Heads of Material & Quality within the Sourcing team, as well as with the cross-functional teams in Zurich.
