About the job
EMEA Apparel team is growing! As an Apparel Designer at Mizuno EMEA, you will play a key role in creating innovative, high-performance sportswear collections that reflect the Mizuno brand’s legacy and vision. You will work closely with the global design team, product development teams, and marketing to deliver exceptional designs that meet both functional and aesthetic needs for athletes and consumers in the EMEA market.
Key Responsibilities and tasks
Concept Development:

Research market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities in the EMEA region.

Develop seasonal design concepts and themes aligned with Mizuno’s global strategy and regional requirements.
Apparel Design:

Create innovative, functional, and performance-driven designs for a variety of sports categories, including running, team sports, and training.

Translate design concepts into technical drawings and prototypes, ensuring alignment with brand identity and functional performance.

Develop colour palettes, fabric choices, and graphics for each collection.
Collaboration:

Work closely with the Product Planners and Product Development teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet performance standards.

Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure designs align with campaign messaging and consumer storytelling.

Liaise with the Global Design HQ to ensure consistency with Mizuno’s worldwide design direction.
Technical Specifications:

Create detailed tech packs and specifications for production.

Ensure proper fit and functionality through sample reviews and feedback sessions with development team.
Innovation & Sustainability:

Stay updated on the latest advancements in performance fabrics, technologies, and sustainable practices to integrate into designs.
About you
-
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Sportswear Design, or a related field.

1-2 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in sportswear or activewear.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and 3D design tools (e.g., CLO3D or similar).

Solid and verifiable Apparel Design experience across Men’s & Women’s.

Strong knowledge of fabric properties, garment construction, and performance requirements for sports apparel.

Ability to create detailed tech packs and communicate effectively with manufacturers.

A strong portfolio showcasing both creative and technical design capabilities.

Understanding of sports culture and trends within the EMEA region.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-
Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Ability to travel internationally, if required.
