As a Computational Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping On’s future by leveraging your expertise in computationally driven product creation. As part of the Innovation Manufacturing Engineering team, you’ll work closely with all technical Innovation and Footwear Design teams to drive new digital generative capabilities, streamline design processes, and contribute to the product development of On’s most cutting-edge technology LightSpray™.
Your mission
– Utilize your 2D and 3D computational engineering skills to create new digital generated performance driven product concepts for Lightspray™ footwear, accessories and apparel from prototyping till final product
– Develop and implement automated workflows for generating optimized 3D designs based on specific product and process criteria.
– Work on the intersection between the designer and the production machine by translating functional design briefs into groundbreaking manufacturable product concepts for robotic driven manufacturing
– Use rapid prototyping to turn ideas into proof of concepts by working closely with other functions in R&D like Sports Science, Material Science and Development.
– Iterate product concepts in collaboration with designers and developers towards a scalable and commercial product by partnering with our Europe- and Asia-based Innovation and development teams
– Serve as a link between innovation and inline teams to ensure commercial scalability of new designs.
Your story
– Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, industrial design, architecture, computer science, or a related field.
– 7+ years of experience using 2D and 3D design and engineering and design software, with at least 5 years in computational or advanced CAE, especially CAD.
– Experience in launching complex product designs, with proven success in delivering innovative solutions.
– Advanced expertise in Rhino, Grasshopper and skills in platforms like Maya, ZBrush, or Python or similar.
– Experience with additive manufacturing and automated manufacturing methods (Robotics).
– Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong communication skills and experience working cross functionally
– Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
