In short
As Senior Lead Global Merchandiser Footwear Wholesale you will be responsible for ensuring the right products go to the right account/channels, with the correct tiering, with the best timing and price, to optimise our premium brand vision and the selling/ profitability. You will secure the assortment across Footwear, linked to Accessories and apparel, developing and implementing our global brand strategy, by gaining customer insights from working closely with our Regional Merchandising & Sales teams to provide feedback and analysis to influence our range going forward.
You will be a leader in forecasting and utilising new tools for data analysis and turning your findings into short term actions and long-term strategies.
This role offers autonomy and an interesting challenge, in which your goal is to embed Merchandising into the culture of On. The position is based in Zurich.
Your mission
– Create tailored assortments that meet the specific consumer/community needs of each channel (60% of SKU adoption/sell in volume globally defined). Ensure assortments are built around strong head-to-toe product stories tied to key campaigns. Align product assortments with seasonal campaigns, ensuring that each collection reflects the brand’s premium positioning
– Work with Regional Merchandising leads to ensure that global assortments are fine-tuned to meet local market needs without diluting the brand’s core premium identity
– Ensure consistent and structured follow-ups of your assortments, commercial focuses and quantified goals that leads to actions for all markets
– Implement regular feedback loops between Global and Regional teams to gather insights on product performance, market trends, and customer preferences
– Responsible for setting, driving and following up on forecasting in close cooperation with your Regional Merchandising counterparts, Demand planning, Supply planning and Operations teams working to ensure the highest level of accuracy and on time delivery
– Utilise and develop tools for analysis to enrich our understanding of the consumer when it comes to our product offering around the globe
– Drive commercial GTM process for all markets to communicate the strategy, key looks and commercial opportunities throughout the process
– Work closely with our campaign teams to prioritise product pushes/ align product launch dates in line with the other business partners
– Work with VM to drive product assortment strategies into our wholesale environments, building inspiring and commercial solutions
– Contribute to the collection pricing architecture and optimise the effect of full price sales through competitor price mapping and price adjustments with our pricing team
– Know the market and the consumer targets, fashion and performance competencies and that of our competitors
Your story
– You have 7 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a merchandising role within footwear in a wholesale first business
– You have a strong track record of business results from your previous roles preferably within Merchandising, Product Management and Business Analytics
– You are experienced in developing distribution strategies, whilst keeping consumers, accounts and sales teams front of mind
– You have a strong understanding of Visual Merchandising and the taste level to make inspiring assortments
– You have an analytical and data driven mindset with a clear focus on results
– You have strong G-suite experience including Excel and Powerpoint skills, with a drive to learn new systems
– You have solid leadership experience, are able to drive new concepts and are a team player
– You are a strong communicator and presenter in front of diverse internal and external audiences
– You have business proficiency in English
