Credit Risk Analyst

Salary: From £30,000 per year depending on experience 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week (between 8am and 4pm)  

Working style: Hybrid – 3 days per week on site

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a Credit Risk Analyst your primary objective is to assess and manage credit risks within the EMEA portfolio. You will examine financial data for new customers and existing customers seeking expansion through VF's brands, distribution channels, and/or markets.

You will also analyse economic trends, generate risk-related reports, oversee credit limits, and present insights to management, thereby enhancing risk strategies and ensuring business stability.

How You Will Make a Difference

Your responsibilities will include a variety of the following duties on a daily, weekly and monthly basis:

  • Analysing customer financial accounts and approving credit limits and payment terms, to minimize risk as well as generate future sales and develop long-standing, profitable relationships with the new customer base
  • Maintain a detailed overview of customer master data and relevant risks, adhering to company policies and legal requirements when managing data systems
  • Monitor macro and micro economic data and trends in order to anticipate risks
  • Provide detailed and up to date reports and data to senior management with commentary, supporting strategic business decisions regarding credit risk policies and scoring models
  • Act as a key point of contact with credit rating agencies, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing risk-related training to relevant departments
  • Participate in risk-based meetings and preparing/presenting credit risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risk indicators and areas of concern or opportunity for improvement.

Skills for Success

You should be someone who is adaptable, proactive and a lateral thinker with:

  • A background in a credit-related function – risk management, financial accounting and/or an analytical role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English communication, with the ability to build strong working relationships and present in an effective and influential manner
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, VBA functions and Power BI
  • A comprehensive understanding of financial statements including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements and Cash Flow Statements
